The Commander of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service, Mr. Brenton Cain proceeded on pre-retirement leave on 25th July, 2022, after thirty six (36) years of service to the SVG Coast Guard Service and the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

There was an official Ceremony held at the hard court in Calliaqua on Thursday, 21st July, 2022, to honour Commander Cain.

A background and biography of Commander Cain was given by Mr. William Theobalds, Lieutenant of the SVG Coast Guard Service. Commander Cain was lauded for his outstanding contributions made during his tenure at the SVG Coast Guard Services. He was also praised for the effective management of the assets of the Coast Guard Services. It was noted that during his tenure, Commander Cain commanded the respect of his fellow officers. He was described as a subject matter expert.

Commander Cain is the third Vincentian to have commanded the SVG Coast Guard. He is also the longest serving commander in the history of SVG, as well as the longest serving gazetted officer of the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.

Remarks were also made by Deputy Commissioner of Police of the RSVGPF.

Commander Cain was presented with an award. Fellow officers bidded farewell to him as he proceeded on pre-retirement leave.
