The Fire Fepartment is staffed by 57 persons and is lead by Inspector Joseph Jack.  The Fire Department's staff is on call 24 hours per day, except those based at the airports, whose hours run from airport opening hours to their closure.

There are eight (8) fire appliances at the various Fire Departments throughout Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.  

There are fire stations in three (3) of the Grenadine Islands - Bequia, Canouan, and Union Island.  The staff at these stations are housed at police stations, and is responsible for aircraft security, except on Mustique, which is privately owned.
