NEMO and SVG Red Cross Society Cordinate National Appeal Efforts to Aid the Commonwealth of Dominica

The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) in collaboration with the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society, will be coordinating a Nation-wide Appeal Effort to provide relief supplies for the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica who were affected by Tropical Storm Erika, which impacted the island on Thursday August 27, 2015. Heavy rains caused flash flooding, landslides and wide spread damage which affected most parts of the island.


NEMO To Host Training Workshop on Post Disaster Needs Assessments

Professionals from the various sectors throughout Saint Vincent and the Grenadines who collect and analyse damage assessment data and information following the impact of a hazard, is participating in a Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), Workshop this week.

NEMO Commemorates the 36th Anniversary of the Eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano

April 13th 2015 marks 36 years since the last eruption of the La Soufriere  volcano. The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO), will be joined  by the Seismic Research Centre (SRC), of The University of the West Indies and the Soufriere Monitoring Unit (SMU), to commemorate the anniversary and to raise awareness of the risk and science associated with an active volcano. The volcano awareness activities will take place during the period 13th - 28th April.

NEMO to Host Workshop on the Impact of Volcanic Ash on the Environment and Infrastructure

The National Emergency Management Organisation(NEMO), in collaboration with the Strengthening Resilience in Volcanic Areas (STREVA), Project of the University of East Anglia (UK), and the Seismic Research Centre (SRC), University of the West Indies, will conduct a workshop on ‘The Impact of Volcanic Ash on the Environment and Infrastructure’ on Tuesday 10th March.
